  • Downtown Birmingham is an expansive shopping and dining hub with over 300 retailers. A bevy of restaurants, clothing stores, salons, and art galleries line the pedestrian-friendly streets, offering a variety of food and entertainment. Some of the notable venues are The Fillmore Detroit and Fox Theatre.
  • The Birmingham Farmers Market is open every Sunday from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.  Residents can engage in live entertainment and family-friendly activities while shopping for farm-fresh produce, artisan goods, and local meat and dairy products.
  • Birmingham proudly embraces its heritage through its meticulously preserved historic sites which also happen to be the oldest structures in Oakland County: the 1822 John West Hunter House, the 1928 Allen House, the Baldwin Library, and the Bates Street Historic District.
  • More than 20 parks can be found throughout the city, providing plenty of opportunities for exercise and sports. Those who crave adventure can explore the City’s wooded trail system and Rouge River.
